Fundraising

Fundraising for your campaign is a crucial step in order to pass your levy or bond.  Ideally your campaign committee is starting up with some money, perhaps a quarter of what it will need to run the campaign.

Yearly on-going donations:  Some campaigns ask their local PTA’s to donate every year to the campaign, $100, $200, $250 are some of the annual contributions that PTA’s are donating.

Some campaigns ask the staff at their local schools to make automatic payroll deduction monthly contributions of $1, $3, $5 on an on-going basis.  With significant participation, all of your campaign dollars can be raised before the campaign begins.

Campaign based donations – three to nine months before election

When asking organizations to donate, ask them to do an organizational contribution, PTA’s, chamber, etc can be asked.  Send a fundraising letter to different segments of population like senior citizens and booster clubs.  Ask PTA’s to name 5-20 people in each school to send fundraising letter to.
